The group gathered around the bucket. It was so crowded you could barely breathe.
"Alright everyone, let ___ go, as we discussed..." Britain looked at you. You, being the only girl, had the privilege of being the one to draw. You reached your hand inside, scooping around, finally grasping onto a paper.
"Holy Roman Empire..." You looked around. A little boy came up to you.
"I am-a him-a! And you are not my Italy! This will not be as fun as I hoped " he looked relieved, but also let down. You smiled at the cute little one and walked into the closet.
"May-a I ask you the pony of this game? Is it all nonsense! Would you like to join my empire!" He placed his nubby hand on your own. He didn't realize he has already diminished; no longer exists. It hurt you to see him still trying to be strong, yet he had no reason to be trying. He must not know that he's gone.
"I'd love to join..." You rubbed his head. He smiled brightly.
"Thank you! I'll be so strong! If I could only get Italy to...but you are very..." He stopped and blushed. "Very pretty yourself." He looked upset at himself for admitting it.
"Aw, aren't you sweet!" You picked him up, coddling him in your arms. He wasn't one you'd stay with. He was far too young, but you could tell he had that crush that little kids get. That crush that never leaves; it stay and plagues them because they know they can't have you...and after all the things this Holy Roman Empire had been through, you couldn't imagine him having to deal with you, also. You decided to let him love you. You didn't want him hurt.
"I'm not sweet...I-I'm-a strong you know!" He puffed out his little chest. "I'll prove it too..." It was obvious he had no way to prove it. He was so weak now. He didn't even exist. Just a fragment, a remnant of memories. You saw his face, it was a realization of this. He looked hurt.
"W-why don't we go play, then?" You tried to get his mind off of his past. You saw him look up, lighting up a bit. "As soon as we get out of here? How about we head to my house to play, maybe spar a little..." You were trying to remind him of good times without hurting him.
"I-I-a like that idea-a!" Just Ashe said that, Germany opened the door.
"Alright, you two can-" Germany was cut off by holy Rome soaring past him, calling your name to follow. You followed. Could you keep up a life to please a deceased boy?
